 WGC vs OLGS

First played at Reigate Heath in 1989 following a challenge by Alan Amos (Watsonian & past Captain of Reigate Heath GC) to Alec Watt (OLGS and since then also a Past Captain on Reigate Heath).

Alan Amos died in 1990 and from 1991 the match has been played for the Alan Amos memorial trophy which was produced by Gordon Miller (Watsonian) and funded by both societies.

The trophy designates that it is to be played for between Watsonians and Lorettonians annually at Reigate Heath. The match is now in the RHGC fixture list and the trophy plaque is on the wall in the Club Lounge

Our London based members play a number of social matches, competitions and tournaments in the South of England:

Matches are played against Old Lorettonians at Reigate Heath GC in January for the Alan Amos Memorial Trophy and Old Malburians in February at the Berkshire.

In June there is the very social London Scottish Schools (LSS) tournament held at Denham GC. LSS also host an outing to Royal Wimbledon GC in late autumn.

In the Autumn the section competes against the Edinburgh and Lancashire sections in the Tri-Angular Match.
